The Australian Livestock & Property Agents Association (ALPA) is the National Peak Industry body for livestock and property agents.
ALPA represents more than 1,200 agency businesses across Australia. Collectively this group plays an important role in Livestock, Wool, Merchandise and Rural Property sales and marketing. ALPA Members handle in excess of 97% of rural agency business Australia Wide. It is one of the largest organisations of small rural business men and women, relied on to protect the interests of agents and producers nationally.

ALPA & FAIRFAX AGRICULTURAL MEDIA MARKETING AWARD 2013:
This award was previously called the ALPA, Rural Press, Mike Nixon Award.
The winner receives a trip to the 2014 Calgary Stampede, $1,000 cash and the Mike Nixon Shield. Open to anyone who has been in the industry less than 10 years and is doing well in marketing.

NSW 2013 ALPA YAC Competitors.

ALPA & Fairfax Agricultural Media Marketing Award winner Troy Trevor, Queensland Rural, Charters Towers, Queensland. Troy will now set off to Calgary in Canada with the winner of the 2013 ALPA Young Auctioneers Competition as part of his prize. Brendan Wade, North East Division Livestock Manager for Landmark, based in Brisbane was re-elected President of ALPA at the 2012 AGM. The ALPA 2013 AGM will be held in Sydney on October 17th 2013.

NSW wins NAB Agribusiness National Team Shield for 2013. Joe Wilks (L) from Elders, Wagga Wagga and Nick Fogarty (R) Landmark, Forbes with Kahn Horne, General Manager NAB Agribusiness, Sydney.

The South Australian YAC was contested at the Naracoorte Saleyards along with an Auctioneers School that had 22 attendees on May 10. Runner-up was Ryan Childs (L) from Keatley Livestock Mt Gambier. Shelby Howard, Rodwells & Co Shepparton (R) winner of the 2012 ALPA YAC with Runner-up Hayden Rogers, Landmark Wangaratta (L). The 2012 ALPA Victorian Competition was held on Sunday 23rd September at the Royal Melbourne Show.

National winner Joe Wilks, Elders, Wagga Wagga and Runner Up, Nick Fogarty, Landmark, Forbes, both representing NSW. Joe will travel to Calgary and have his chance to sell at the International Auctioneers Competition in July 2013.
