ALPA (YAC) Young Auctioneers Competitions.

2019 ALPA VIC YOUNG AUCTIONEERS COMPETITION RESULTS:
The 2019 VIC Young Auctioneers Competition was held at the Victorian Livestock Exchange on Monday 9th September 2019.
The winner was, Joshua McDonald, Rodwells & Co, Warrnambool and the runner-up was
Thomas Davies, Rodwells & Co, Wangaratta.
both will now represent Victoria in the ALPA 2020 Young Auctioneers Competition.
Close to 100 members and guests attended the dinner where over $5,000 was raised for the RFDS. A further $21,000 was raised by donations and the selling of the charity steer purchased by Coles Australia at the comp the next day.  
ALPA events have seen over $61,300 raised for RFDS this year.

2019 ALPA SOUTH AUSTRALIAN YOUNG AUCTIONEERS COMPETITION RESULTS:
The 2019 ALPA SA Young Auctioneers Competition was held on Tuesday 2nd July in Naracoorte. 
The winner was Joshua Reeves, Elders, Naracoorte and runner up Wade Broadstock, Elders, Bordertown. They will both compete in Sydney in the 2020 ALPA National Young Auctioneers Competition.
 

2019 ALPA NSW & NATIONAL YOUNG AUCTIONEERS COMPETITION RESULTS:
The 2019 ALPA NSW Young Auctioneers Competition at the Sydney Royal Easter Show on Friday 12th April NSW.
Angus MacTavish of Elders in Walcha was declared the 2019 ALPA NSW Young Auctioneers Competition winner, earning himself the John Weekes Memorial Shield and a place in the 2020 ALPA National Young Auctioneers Competition.
Coming in second was Cooper Byrnes of Langlands Hanlon in Parkes. Cooper will also represent New South Wales in the 2020 ALPA National Young Auctioneers Competition. The Max Bailey Encouragement Award went to Ben McMahon of Lehman Stock & Property in Inverell.

In the national competition, Anthony O’Dwyer of GDL in Dalby was awarded the title of the 2019 ALPA National Young Auctioneers Competition winner. Later this year, Anthony will go on to represent Australia in the International Livestock Auctioneers Competition at the Calgary Stampede, Canada, thanks to Quadrant Agtours. In addition to the overseas opportunity, Anthony took home the Prosser Cup and several other prizes. Joe Allen of Elders in Euroa was the 2019 ALPA National Young Auctioneers Competition runner- up and will go to New Zealand to sell.
Each year the NAB Agribusiness Team Shield is awarded to the state with the highest combined score. This year QLD, represented by Anthony O’Dwyer of GDL Dalby and Jack Henshaw of Elders in Goondiwindi, won the NAB Team Shield
2019.

2019 ALPA QLD YOUNG AUCTIONEERS COMPETITION RESULTS:
The 2019 ALPA Queensland Young Auctioneers dinner was held last night with 200 members and industry guests attending. The charity auction raised over $13,000 for the Royal Flying Doctors. Today, the winner of the ALPA Queensland competition was Liam Kirkwood, Ray White Livestock, Townsville and the runner up was Jack Henshaw, Elders, Goondiwindi. Thank you Coles for buying the top price steer at the 2019 ALPA Young Auctioneers Competition.
